The Sony IMX296 is a global shutter CMOS image sensor with a resolution of 1.6 megapixels and a pixel size of 3.45µm x 3.45µm. Global shutter sensors capture the entire image at once, while rolling shutter sensors scan the image line by line. This means that global shutter sensors can avoid distortion and motion blur when capturing fast-moving objects. The IMX296 sensor is suitable for a variety of industrial and machine vision applications, such as robotics, inspection, monitoring, and high-speed imaging. It can also be used with different types of lenses (such as C/CS mount lenses) and can be integrated with Arducam camera modules for embedded systems/platforms. The onboard ISP optimizes image quality, while the global shutter, USB 3.0 connectivity, and high-speed frame rate of 44fps ensure smooth video shooting. It is equipped with a 6mm CS lens with a 60° diagonal field of view, providing precise and detailed images for a variety of applications.
