The difference between industrial cameras and general cameras is:
  1. The shutter time of industrial cameras is very short and can capture fast-moving objects.

    For example, if you stick a business card on the blade of an electric fan, rotate it at maximum speed, and capture a picture with an industrial camera, you can clearly identify the fonts on the business card. However, taking pictures with ordinary cameras cannot achieve this effect!

  2. The image sensor of an industrial camera is progressive scan, while the image sensor of a general camera is interlaced, or even interlaced.

    Progressive scanning image sensors are more difficult to produce, with low yields and low shipments. There are only a few companies in the world that can provide such products, such as Dalsa and Sony, and they are expensive. The price of a million-level progressive scan CCD ranges from RMB 4,000 to RMB 30,000, with a wide range of technical parameters. Only by using a progressive scan image sensor can it be possible to clearly capture fast-moving objects.

  3. The photography speed of industrial cameras is much higher than that of ordinary cameras.

    Industrial cameras can take from ten to hundreds of pictures per second, while ordinary cameras can only take 2-3 pictures, which is a far cry from that.

  4. Industrial cameras output naked data, and their spectral ranges are often relatively wide, which is more suitable for high-quality image processing algorithms and is widely used in machine vision systems.

    The spectral range of pictures taken by ordinary cameras (DSC) is only suitable for human vision, and after MPEG compression, the picture quality is also poor.

Because industrial cameras have technical advantages that are different from ordinary cameras, industrial cameras are increasingly used in various fields. For example: product surface integrity inspection system, electronic police, industrial inspection, image processing and collection, etc.
